Season 2027 · 12 April: ERA Day at the Salzburgring

A New Era Of Driving.

I’m Philipp Eng. I’m an active professional racing driver — and I coach here myself. Twenty drivers, four coaches, and one day after which you really are faster.

The ERA Day

Not a track day. A day inside a race team.

Season 2027

I wanted to build the day I would have loved to drive myself: a small field, a coach who stays with you, and after every stint data and an honest debrief. That is how we work in racing — and that is exactly how an ERA Day runs. — Philipp Eng, Founder & Team Principal

01

Maximum 20 drivers

Typical track days admit up to 60 participants. With us it is 20 — and never more than 10 cars on track at the same time.

02

Your dedicated coach

Four coaches, three of them active professional racing drivers — one of them Philipp Eng. Five drivers per coach, the same person all day long.

03

Debrief after every stint

Garmin Catalyst 2 in every car. Anyone can buy the device — we translate the data into a clear task for your next stint.

Format 01

APEX

For drivers with track experience who are chasing tenths. Two grids, homogeneous pace, clear track.

up to 10 drivers
Format 02

RISE

For rising talents with their first track days behind them. Two grids, the same coaching, more work on the fundamentals.

up to 10 drivers
Circuits

Home base Salzburgring. Europe next.

We start where we are at home: our own double pit garage on the pit lane, short distances, everything well rehearsed. The format, however, is not tied to a single circuit — the next European racetracks are in preparation. Which circuit, which schedule and which price apply is always stated with the respective date.

Philipp Eng · Founder & Team Principal

I’m an active professional racing driver. That is exactly the difference.

My name is Philipp Eng. Thirty years in motorsport, a professional racing driver for thirteen of them, and I am racing myself this season. Elsewhere you are coached by former racing drivers. At ERA you get an active pro — what I show you on track is what I needed myself in a race a few weeks earlier.

  • 3× overall winner 24 Hours of Spa · DTM race winner
  • 2× champion Porsche Carrera Cup · Champion Porsche Supercup
  • IMSA race winner · class winner 24 Hours of Daytona

You don’t learn this from videos. You learn it from someone who is doing it right now — and who listens to you instead of just shouting that you should brake later. — Philipp Eng

Philipp Eng coaches in person — at every ERA Day.

Four coaches, three of them active professional racing drivers. One dedicated coach per grid, no more than five drivers per coach. No instructor pool, no changing faces.

Good to know

Before you book.

Which level is right for me?
RISE for rising talents, APEX for experienced drivers. Not sure? Choose “Please assign me” — we will call you before the event.
Which car, and what do I need?
Your own sports car, in perfect technical condition and within the noise limits of the respective circuit. Plus a helmet, clothing that covers arms and legs, sturdy closed shoes, a category B driving licence, minimum age 18 and a strict zero-alcohol rule.
How can I pay?
Credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, EPS or Klarna via our payment provider Stripe. The price applies per date and is stated with the respective event — always including 20 % VAT.
Cancellation or rebooking?
Up to 30 days before the event 20 %, 29–14 days before 50 %, after that the full amount. Up to 14 days before you can rebook once free of charge; a substitute participant is possible at any time. There is no 14-day right of withdrawal for services scheduled for a specific date (Section 18 (1) No. 10 FAGG). Details in the Terms & Conditions.
Can I insure my car?
Standard comprehensive cover usually does not apply on a racetrack. On request we can name providers of track-day insurance — tick the box when booking. ERA itself does not take out any insurance for you or your car and does not act as an insurance intermediary.
I have never been on a racetrack.
Then RISE is exactly right for you. We do not require any track experience — just a driving licence, a roadworthy car and the willingness to take advice. The first stint is deliberately calm.
How loud may my car be?
The noise limits of the respective circuit apply; you will find them in the Pre Event Document for your date. Cars with very loud aftermarket exhaust systems may be excluded on site — if in doubt, get in touch beforehand and we will clarify it with the circuit operator.
Fuel, tyres, servicing on site?
Arrive with a full tank; there is a filling station in the paddock. Tyre pressures, oil level and a look over the car between stints are part of our routine and cost nothing. Wear, consumables and repairs are at your own expense.
Can I bring someone along?
Yes. Guests aged 16 and over are welcome in the garage and the paddock and join us for catering — please let us know when booking. Passenger laps on track are only possible with one of our coaches, not with guests.
What if it rains?
We drive. The ERA Day takes place in all weather and the coaching is adapted to the conditions — wet laps are often the most instructive. Rain is not grounds for a refund.
Travel and accommodation?
You book your own travel and hotel. For every date you receive a Pre Event Document with directions, parking and hotel recommendations nearby. The Salzburgring is 25 minutes from Salzburg; the airport is 30 minutes away.
Do I get to keep my data?
Yes. We analyse the onboard video and the telemetry from the Catalyst 2 together in the debrief; afterwards you receive your recordings and your development plan.
Additional driver or private pit garage?
Both can be added directly when booking. An additional driver (€ 350) takes part as a second driver on your car — you share the car and the track time, and both of you get coaching and debriefs. A private pit garage (€ 200) on the pit lane is reserved for your car alone for the whole day. Both prices incl. 20 % VAT; the additional driver signs the same liability waiver on site as you do.
